    About A.A.H.S.

ASPIRE was initially established as a program that served our local secondary schools.  Today, the ASPIRE program is ASPIRE Academy High School - We are our own, independent, alternative high school; offering another public high school option to students who live in Douglas County.

Our success and growth stemmed from our philosophy.  ASPIRE is an acronym for All Students Pursuing Integrity, Responsibility and Education.  Our school focus highlights character education, service to the community and credit recovery.  Eventually, we hope to see students pursuing acceleration of credits.

We currently serve over 90 students and have a small student to teacher ratio.  Our students are committed to academic achievement, accountability and serving others.  At AAHS we have had a graduation rate of 98% on average.

Students at ASPIRE thrive on our blended instruction approach. Most core classes are taught using the A+ Online Learning System, at which students can work at their own pace.  However, we have highly qualified teachers to guide and teach thorough mini-lessons and provide one-on-one instruction when needed.

Teachers and students work collaboratively to maintain adequate progress in all their classes.  We also have direct instruction classes offered in Math, Speech, Physical Education, Digital Photography, Literacy / Read 180 and Character Education.

Although we don't have homework, our courses are rigorous and our students work diligently to either earn or recover their credits, if not accelerate at a faster pace.
